This policy note provides an overview and our analysis of several key documents focused on the UK’s decarbonisation agenda.
Key policy updates include:
- CfD Round 4 Auction – BEIS released their response to the CfD consultation from March 2020 and confirmed certain amendments including creating a pot solely for offshore wind and extending the negative price rule to take into consideration any negative price in the day ahead market
- CCC’s 6th Carbon Budget – The CCC published its 6th Carbon Budget which covers the period of 2033 – 2037. The first carbon budget to be set since the legislation of the UK’s Net Zero target
- Energy White Paper – The UK Government published its long awaited Energy White Paper which provides further clarity on the nation’s path to Net Zero emissions by 2050
