H2 24 Launch_Press
  • Set to take place in London on 25 September 2024, with a focus on Europe’s hydrogen economy: policy, demand, and investment insights
  • 450 industry expert attendees anticipated in what marks the third year of a successful event

OXFORD (AURORA ENERGY RESEARCH)—Aurora Energy Research, the leading global power analytics provider, are hosting their annual Hydrogen Conference in London on 25 September 2024, with a focus on Europe’s hydrogen economy: policy, demand, and investment insights.

By 2030, Europe aims to both produce and import 10 million tonnes of hydrogen, driving a significant shift from grey to green hydrogen usage in existing end-use sectors and supplying new industries. This year, the conference aims to provide a platform for stakeholders to discuss how demand for hydrogen will evolve against the backdrop of emerging policy frameworks and subsidy regimes, with access to offtakers remaining a key challenge for many developers. It will address the key factors driving investment decisions in various markets, considering the sectors where hydrogen is essential for decarbonisation, the challenges of high production costs, infrastructure deployment, and the disparity between production costs and market prices.

Aurora’s Hydrogen Conference will further examine the potential of regions like Iberia and the Nordic countries as future hydrogen hubs and the associated risks with transport and storage infrastructure.

The conference anticipates an attendance of 450 participants. Attendees will hear from leading experts in the energy industry and meet with the most influential players in the renewables space as they dive into topics of financing, deployment, and policy perspectives on the future of European hydrogen.

In addition to Aurora’s expert speakers, the lineup involves a selection of sector specialists, including:

  • Alexander Voigt, CEO of HH2E
  • Dalia Majumder-Russell, Partner (Energy) at CMS
  • André Pina, Global Head of Hydrogen Strategy & Origination at EDPR, and many more to be confirmed soon.

Emma Woodward, European Hydrogen Market Lead, commented on the significance of the conference:

As the challenges and pace in which we can expect to see the widespread deployment of hydrogen become clearer, it becomes more vital than ever to understand the pathways in which these can be mitigated and the factors that are driving successful investment decisions in early-stage projects. Aurora is delighted to bring together key decision-makers from right across the hydrogen value chain, to discuss and debate the best solutions to accelerate the development of a hydrogen economy and to ensure these are targeted at the areas it is needed most.”

The conference will be a half-day event supported by Clarke Energy, CMS and HH2E.
