Low RESS: How the picture got blurred? RESS3 results and implications for the future

Eirgrid published the provisional results for the third auction round of its Renewable Energy Support Scheme (RESS3) on 26 September, with the final results expected on 9 October.

RESS is the principal route to market for solar and onshore wind projects in Ireland, but the latest auction procured record low capacities and record high prices, with only 646 MW of capacity procured at a generation-weighted average strike price of €100.47/MWh. In this session, we will present the outcomes of this auction and its impact on the Irish market.
