What is the typical recruitment process for applicants at Aurora Energy Research?

Our recruitment process typically begins with an initial application review, followed by interviews to assess your technical ability and your overall competency. Depending on the role, candidates may also be asked to complete assessments or case studies.

I have received a request for an interview or an offer from Aurora, but I am unsure if this person is an employee or affiliate of Aurora. How can I confirm?

We will only reach out to you from an official @auroraer.com mail to confirm interviews or offers. If you are unsure whether a request is from an Aurora employee or not, please reach out to confirm using the Talent.Acquisition@auroraer.com email. We will never ask for personal information outside of verified mail accounts, and we will never ask for payments or bank details during the interview process. 

How do I prepare for my interview?

1. Read up about Aurora to better understand what we do.
2. Make sure your CV is updated to highlight your wins.
3. Keep your CV handy to refer to it during the interview, and make sure to highlight experiences specific to the job description.
4. If possible, have a list of questions ready to help you get more details about the role and us.

Does Aurora provide Internship opportunities?

We currently offer internship opportunities in Berlin! We are looking to expand our internships into other regions.

Does Aurora offer flexible work options?

We offer a varied hybrid working option. Depending on your role and location. This is something that can be discussed during your interview.

Are there opportunities for career mobility and internal movement to different locations within the company?

Yes, many of our employees do enjoy internal movement. This is however subject to role availability, working rights, and qualification of the employee.

How long does the hiring team take to screen a CV after it is submitted?

Usually, the average timeframe is one week. However, this may vary based on the capacity of the hiring team which could be affected by internal projects. Please know that we will aim to get back to you with a full update on the next steps of the recruitment process as soon as possible.

Can I still apply for a role even though I do not posses all stated required attributes from the job description?

You certainly can! We would happily review your candidacy for the applied role or other potential opportunities within the business.

How can I get in touch if I have additional questions before an interview?

Please reply to the interview invite email you have received and state your questions. Our Talent Acquisition team will be soon in touch to provide further clarifications.

I am interested in more than one position at Aurora. Can I apply to different openings?

Of course! Our team would be happy to examine your candidacy for different openings across Aurora. Please note that each position follows an autonomous candidacy review process, which will not affect your candidacy for other opportunities.

Graduate Programme

What does the application process look like?

The application process includes an initial application screening followed by a psychometric test. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a first-round interview and then a final round interview. The application process may differ for each programme, so learn more on our Graduate Programme page.

How many graduate programmes can I apply for?

In Oxford, we open applications for our Graduate Analyst and Graduate Modelling programmes in September each year. You can apply for both schemes. The application process will help to assess which programme you are better suited to.

When can I reapply if unsuccessful?

Please bear in mind that if unsuccessful, you must wait until the following year to reapply.

Can I change the graduate programme I have applied for?

You can. To do so, please contact the Early Careers team early.careers@auroraer.com to request a change.

When do applications open and close?

This can differ for each region, so please take a look at programme pages for opening dates.

What graduate programmes do you offer?

We offer our Graduate Analyst Programme in Oxford, Berlin, and Austin while our Graduate Modelling Programme is currently only available in Oxford.

Am I eligible to apply to the Graduate Programmes?

You can apply to our Graduate Programmes if you are a:

– A final-year undergraduate who is on track for a first class or high second class degree
– A final-year postgraduate holding a first class or high second class undergraduate degree
– A recent graduate holding a first class or high second class undergraduate degree

Note: Must be fluent in the English language: native, level B2 or higher

After the programme comes to an end, will Aurora offer me a permanent position?

After successful completion of the programme, you will be offered a full-time position in one of our teams.

Does Aurora sponsor skilled worker visas?

We are committed to sponsoring skilled worker visas where possible for graduates on our programmes. If you need visa sponsorship, you will be able to clarify this in your initial application.
