What we look for

If you're a final-year undergraduate, postgraduate, or recent graduate with a strong academic record, you could be a great fit for our São Paulo Graduate Modelling Programme. We value candidates with a relevant Master’s degree or PhD, a strong understanding of energy markets, and proficiency in Python programming. Knowledge of statistical and mathematical optimisation techniques is also highly desirable. We’re looking for candidates who demonstrate:

  • check iconThe ability to collect, analyse, and interpret complex quantitative data
  • check iconA collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills
  • check iconProficiency in at least one programming language (e.g. Python, R, Matlab, C++, Java)

Working with our teams

Upon successful completion of the São Paulo Graduate Modelling Programme, you’ll be offered a full-time role within the Modelling Team, where you’ll continue to develop and apply your expertise in energy market modelling.

Modelling Team

The Modelling Team builds and refines the core models behind Aurora’s tools like Chronos and Origin, using cutting-edge software design and mathematical optimisation to simulate global power markets. Our Modellers work closely with Research, Advisory, Software Solutions, and Software Development to simulate and apply models across global energy markets.

Advisory

Advisory

Our Advisory team delivers tailored analysis to help clients make high-stakes decisions on investments, policy, and strategy. Working closely with global stakeholders, you'll contribute to projects across technologies and markets, supporting major energy transactions and the transition to a low-carbon future.

Research

Research

The Research team produces market-leading insights for over 800 global clients. You’ll contribute to rigorous forecasting and analysis across topics like renewables, battery storage, and hydrogen, supporting decision-makers from governments, utilities, and investors navigating complex, fast-changing energy systems.

First Interview

Shortlisted candidates will take part in a virtual 1:1 interview, including both qualitative and quantitative questions.

Second Interview

Successful applicants will be invited to a second round, either virtual or in-person. This includes a 1.5-hour conversation-style interview with quantitative problem-solving components.

In the final stage, candidates will attend an in-person interview at our Aurora office, focusing on cultural fit, collaboration, and overall motivation.
