Despite NYISO’s relatively low renewables penetration to date (~30%) and challenges in bringing new projects online, New York has set ambitious Renewable Portfolio Standards, targeting 100% by 2040. The shift to bilateral contracts via indexed RECs creates complexity in forecasting expected revenues for renewable generators.

During this session, we will present analysis around the following questions:

• How do we expect prices of RECs to evolve?
• What will it take for New York to meet their ambitious targets?
• Do we expect the generation mix to evolve given reliability requirements?
