Overview of the Idaho Power Resource Plan and Procurement Activities

December 10, 2024 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm CST

Idaho Power serves over 640,000 electric customers throughout its service territory, with a peak load of almost 3.9 GW. The utility’s 4,800 miles of high-voltage transmission lines serve as a crucial conduit for moving power from generating resources throughout the West to load centers. This webinar will explore drivers of procurement in Idaho Power’s resource plan, past procurement activities, and commercialization strategies for projects sited in the utility’s service territory.

Key topics we will cover in the session include:

  • Overview of Idaho Power
  • Drivers of future procurement including network changes, thermal retirements, load growth, and the regulatory environment
  • Results of historical procurement processes and the competitive landscape in Idaho Power’s territory
  • Optionality available to wind projects sited in Idaho Power’s balancing authority area

If you are interested in joining the session, please reach out to Duncan Young (duncan.young@auroraer.com).
