Just over two years ago, in September 2022, MISO completely opened its energy and ancillary service markets to storage resources for the first time. Since then, installed BESS capacity has grown to approximately 400 MW, with expectations to reach around 1 GW by the end of 2025. Additionally, over 60 GW is currently in the interconnection queue.
To address the growing investor and developer interest in batteries within MISO, we recently launched our MISO Flexible Energy product, designed to answer key questions about battery deployment in the region.
