ERCOT Long-term Outlook: Demand Forecast and Policy Reforms

August 16 @ 12:00 pm BST

In this session, we will discuss key results from our most recent updates to the ERCOT Power & Renewables Market Forecast, ERCOT Flexible Energy Market Outlook, and ERCOT Nodal Market Forecast. The session will address the following questions:

Status Quo:

  • How have the market pricing dynamics evolved, and how do market outcomes vary by location?
  • How has renewables deployment been impacted when net peak load occurs, and how does it impact dispatchable assets?
  • What have we learned about various policy reform areas, and what do we still not know?

What are the long-term dynamics to watch for?

  • How attractive is ERCOT for investors compared with other US power markets?
  • How will population growth, Permian Basin electrification, and datacenter and hydrogen electrolyzer development impact future demand?

What is the potential impact of ongoing market reform processes?

  • What impact would the Performance Credit Mechanism, Texas Energy Fund, and the change in interconnection cost allowance have on project economics?

If you would like to register for this session, please reach out to Danielle Startsev.
