Aurora’s Warsaw debut set to draw 250 energy experts on 20 February 2025
WARSAW, POLAND (AURORA ENERGY RESEARCH)—As the European Union advances toward its 2050 Net Zero targets, Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) is emerging as a critical focus area for the energy transition. In response, Aurora Energy Research, a leading global power analytics provider, is launching its inaugural Energy Transition Summit Warsaw, set to take place on 20 February 2024.
Titled “Energy Transition in Central and Eastern Europe: Challenges and Investment Opportunities,” the summit will focus on actionable strategies to drive the region’s energy transition while maintaining its competitiveness in a sustainable global economy. Key discussion points will include securing energy supply, fostering investment in clean energy technologies, and navigating the complexities of CEE’s diverse energy markets.
The event is expected to attract around 250 participants from across the CEE energy sector. Attendees will explore how the region’s energy landscape is undergoing a transformative shift as CEE is positioning itself as a hotspot for innovation and investment. Aurora forecasts 90 GW of new investments in wind, solar, and battery storage across CEE between 2025 and 2030, with Poland leading the way in this transition.
In addition to Aurora’s expert speakers, the lineup involves a selection of sector specialists, including:
- Christian Schnell, Partner, Co-Head of Energy group in Europe and Poland, Dentons
- Joanna Pandera, PhD, Founder and President, Forum Energii
- Maciej Górski, Vice President, Management Board for Operations, PGE
- Ewelina Szulc, Managing Director Poland, Klara Renewables
Filip Piasecki, Market Lead, Poland, Czechia, Slovakia at Aurora Energy Research, commented on the significance of the conference:
“Energy transition in Central Eastern Europe, traditionally lagging behind compared to other European markets, has started to change rapidly in recent years. Over the coming decades, we expect the renewables market to continue growing substantially, though new complexities will emerge in both offtake and investment. Moreover, battery energy storage is starting to be deployed massively across region, further increasing challenges as well as opportunities.
“We are pleased to convene the policymakers, project developers, manufacturers, banks, and investors who debate with key industry leaders on the emerging opportunities in this region.”
The conference will be a half-day event supported by Dentons, with other sponsors to be confirmed soon.
