Senior Analyst – Research (Flex)

Position

Aurora’s Research teams, provide critical energy market analysis to navigate the global energy transition in over 8 countries. Our services for the Great Britain market are used by more than 200 organisations to support investment decision makings, policy design and market strategy.

You will be a key member of our GB Flexible Energy team, contributing to Aurora’s forecasts, policy analysis and client-facing services on flexible energy technologies. Our Research teams aim to provide thought leadership on the latest topics in the GB power market and provide the opportunity to work with key governmental institutions, utility companies and financial organisations.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out quantitative analysis to deliver price forecasts and market reports.
  • Monitor market activity, keeping abreast of the latest market developments.
  • Deliver both online and in-person presentations to a broad range of clients.
  • Contribute to the expansion of Aurora’s research topics and analytical tools.

Required attributes

  • A first class or upper second-class bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in quantitative data and analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in power markets or a related field.
  • Strong teamworking and problem-solving skills.

Desirable attributes

  • Existing knowledge of, or experience in, markets for flexible assets.
  • Fluency in a second language beneficial but not essential.
  • Skills in data analytics and related software (e.g. Python, Excel, SQL, Power BI).
