Position
As part of the leadership of our European research team, you’ll play an important role in further developing our subscription analytics products. Applying your leadership capabilities, you will inspire, coach and guide a team of curious and analytical minds.
You will be responsible for a range of our analytics products, supervising the creation of market forecasts, strategic insight reports and lead large workshops with clients. Depending on your background and experience, you will lead a group of product teams working on the Dutch, Belgian, Nordic, Baltic and/or Italian markets.
You will advise utilities, developers, investors, and governments who subscribe to our forecasts & reports. The broad client base allows us to independently set the agenda and work at the forefront of the issues facing the entire market: From renewable and battery business models to decarbonization and security of supply.
Topics the teams have worked on in the past include:
- Solar & Batteries: The Benefits of Co-location in the Netherlands
- Nordic power markets in flux: Green hydrogen opportunities and market reform challenges
- Impact of the Russian war on the Italian gas and power market
Key responsibilities
- Lead product teams with 6 – 12 junior colleagues. Mentor, develop and inspire your team members
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, guiding teams in developing timely and rigorous quantitative analyses to enhance clients’ decision making
- Guide teams to draw insights out of the analysis we produce and communicate findings to clients by creating compelling presentations
- Work closely with our modelling team, structuring economic problems into quantifiable analyses and deriving insights from the model results
- Engage with clients to thoroughly understand their requirements. Set the research agenda for your teams together with the local market leads, choosing topics which are relevant and timely to clients,
- Contribute to Aurora’s product development, by identifying new opportunities and expanding our capabilities
Required attributes
- You have considerable relevant experience from a top-tier consultancy, energy company, investment bank, or other knowledge-driven firm or institution
- Demonstrated success in project and process management in team-oriented environments, having managed project teams with at least 3 junior colleagues
- You will evidence equal passion about delivering high-quality analytical projects and developing your people.
- You’ll be collaborative by nature and have an empathetic leadership style that demonstrates skill in inspiring, raising performance and developing your teams.
- You’ll want to use you intellectual and analytical excellence to make real and tangible impacts that influence the complex decisions our clients need to make.
- You’ll thrive on using your personal impact to create the highest quality products for clients combining first class analytics and modelling with clear presentation of insights.
- Proficiency (C1/C2 level) in English
- Strong interest in energy markets, previous professional or academic exposure to energy beneficial
Desirable attributes
- Proficiency (C1 level) in at least one further European language besides English
- Experience in the energy industry is highly desirable, but not essential if you can demonstrate transferrable skills and experience as well as the desire to contribute to Aurora’s mission and the relevant consulting, analytical and leadership skills.
- Substantial experience in working with energy system models
