People & Culture Business Partner

Position

The People & Culture (P&C) Business Partner will provide effective P&C partnership, support and advice to leaders and employees across our NORAM offices.

Key objectives include having a strong focus on business partnership, operational excellence, thoughtful problem-solving skills, driving best practice and ensuring compliance with all company procedures and employment legislation in alignment with the Aurora culture and values.

You will be a pragmatic collaborator with excellent delivery, integrity and the ability to challenge respectfully. This role requires excellent written & verbal communication, problem solving and high attention to detail. It would suit an HR generalist with an international mindset, someone who enjoys working with colleagues in other global locations, including the UK, Europe and Australia.

You will thrive on juggling a variety of P&C tasks and working at pace in a very busy and growing global P&C team.  We are a close-knit, fun bunch and are hugely supportive of each other. Key responsibilities

  • Delivery of a first line generalist P&C advisory service, providing up to date and informed HR guidance and support on HR policies, processes and systems
  • Dotted line management of the Talent Acquisition Advisor; overseeing and supporting leaders on senior level hires
  • Leading, coaching and advising on all employee relation issues (including disciplinary, grievance, attendance, probation) through to an effective resolution, escalating complex cases as appropriate to the Central P&C team
  • Working with the P&C Centres of Excellence (Rewards and Benefits, Learning and Development for example) to ensure a collaborative approach to supporting the needs of the business in these areas
  • Taking ownership of visa sponsorship, coordinating visa applications for new joiners and conducting regular employee sponsorship reviews
  • Ensure Central P&C policies and procedures are adapted to and compliant with US legislation
  • Conducting exit interviews and identifying any patterns, themes, or issues that require action or escalation
  • Assisting Central P&C with the company’s Performance & Development Review cycles
  • Collaborating with the International P&C Operations Manager on internal mobility transfers and relocations
  • Drafting employment contracts, coordinating background verification checks, and organizing and delivering onboarding training for new joiners
  • Working with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure P&C are aware of any visa requirements, referrals or relocation packages required for new starters
  • Taking ownership of the HRIS system, updating and maintaining employee records and being the first point of contact for any P&C system queries
  • Administering internal changes such as promotions, family leave, transfers, and salary increases
  • Update and maintain employee records on the HRIS, the organizational charts, manage holidays & sickness records
  • Promote partnership by fostering a shared purpose, trust and teamwork across teams, businesses, functions, regions, and levels
  • Ad hoc P&C projects as and when required

Required attributes

  • Solid and broad HR knowledge (SHRM qualification or equivalent) and experience
  • Project management abilities including execution skills and end to end process improvement
  • Ability to navigate a global matrix organization and partner on issues across HR and the business
  • Technically proficient in MS Office Suite – including Excel and PowerPoint

Desirable attributes

  • Proven experience working for a fast-growing international consultancy or professional services business
  • Proven work experience managing complex meeting schedules across multiple time zones
