Human Resources Business Partner

Position

In this very hands-on, busy role, you’ll handle the full spectrum of HR and people-related matters for our Berlin office (c. 90 employees).

You will be the first point of contact for all HR, recruitment, onboarding, advisory, payroll, global mobility, and employee relations matters. Additionally, you’ll support the head office HR team with the implementation of talent management, performance, annual salary, and bonus review processes in the Berlin office.

The opportunity is ideal for an HR generalist who thoroughly enjoys end-to-end delivery of operational HR, ER case management & recruitment activities. You’ll be comfortable with navigating global matrix structures, working with ambiguity and drawing your energy from spinning multiple plates in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm, pleasant and professional attitude.

You will have a solid HR expertise, good working knowledge of German and local employment law, be fluent in English and German and ideally have previous line management experience as you will be responsible for leading and mentoring an HR Assistant and an Intern.

Key responsibilities

  • Builds strong relationships with the Berlin leadership team and hiring managers
  • Supports the Berlin office with end-to-end hiring needs, from sourcing candidates, right through to onboarding and being the main point of contact to ensure an exemplary candidate experience
  • Provides a positive and smooth end-to-end onboarding and offboarding experience in collaboration for the broader Operations team
  • Manages all immigration for Berlin and global mobility into and out of the site
  • Owns and manages the end-to-end Berlin Graduate Programme including recruitment, through to end-of-programme processes
  • Manages all employee relations and talent management activities in line with the Head Office process
  • Oversees all L&D activity for the Berlin office, in close collaboration with the owners of the Aurora Academy
  • Delivers training to the Berlin office when required
  • Manages and maintains relationships with vendors
  • Monthly and Quarterly reporting on HR & Recruitment activities
  • Work in conjunction with Finance to process and coordinate payroll and benefits
  • Champion and promote the use of HR tools, keeping in touch with the current market trends to continually improve HR & Recruitment processes
  • Ensures compliance with all HR policies and local employment legislation
  • Proactively collaborates with other Aurora offices & HR teams, to share knowledge and expertise
  • Additional tasks and projects as required

Required attributes

  • Degree educated or equivalent work experience
  • Fluency in English and German at C1 level is essential
  • Solid HR, employee relations & recruitment experience in the German markets. EMEA or international HR experience in a professional services company is a plus
  • Good understanding of German recruitment/employment law
  • Stamina and resilience to manage and prioritise a heavy workload
  • Independent yet collaborative; builds strong relationships with the head office HR team, line managers and employees
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively
  • Strong planning and time management skills
