HR Assistant

We are looking for a Human Resources Assistant who will support with the coordination of our employee development initiatives and recruitment activities. The ideal candidate will thrive on coordination and organisation and will be a self-starter.

You will need excellent organisational skills, be a confident communicator, capable of dealing with people at all levels, always maintaining a confidential and professional manner. Reliability and adaptability are vital for this role, together with the ability to work independently with a high attention to detail and be flexible to changing deadlines. Previous experience working within an operations or HR department would be an advantage.

You will contribute to the efficiency of our business by ensuring that all training programmes and recruitment processes are coordinated to a professional and effective standard. Working as part of a vibrant, fast paced Operations team, this is a chance to gain experience within an interesting and dynamic organisation, where individuals thrive on change.

Key responsibilities

  • Support with the coordination of the company’s training courses ensuring a professional and consistent standard at all times, including ensuring that the HR system training module is kept up to date
  • Order resources for logistical coordination in advance of courses, including catering for delegates
  • Communicate with team members, trainers and management to ensure all needs are met in relation to training and recruitment requirements
  • Monitor training programmes and manuals to ensure they are effective and up-to-date and make changes as necessary
  • Producing training reports to be presented to the senior management team
  • Coordinate and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment
  • Marketing available training opportunities to employees and providing necessary information
  • Recruitment support to the HR team – supporting on the recruitment process, ensuring the relevant recruiting managers are kept up to date, timely feedback is provided to candidates and arranging interviews
  • Liaising with the HR team to ensure offer letters and employment contracts are drafted, approved and sent to candidates and returned for HR records
  • Perform any other duties commensurate with the role as required and directed by the HR Manager
  • Support to the Operations team with all necessary tasks and internal events

Required attributes

  • A Level equivalent or above and/or 1-2 years proven work experience working in an HR, Operations or Learning and Development team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Confident in interacting with others
  • Be a self-motivated individual and a real team player with the empathy and drive to succeed and work autonomously when necessary
  • Excellent time management, administration and organisational skills
  • Excellent MS skills particularly Outlook (diary management), MS PowerPoint, Excel & Word
  • Flexible approach to work with a can-do attitude, taking pride in delivering outstanding work
  • Willingness to proactively take on new tasks whilst effectively managing a varied workload
  • Ability to use initiative, forward think and work under pressure
  • Able to work to deadlines and manage conflicting priorities whilst maintaining good attention to detail

Desirable attributes

  • Proven experience working for a fast-growing international consultancy or professional services business
  • Proven work experience managing complex meeting schedules across multiple time zones
