Head of Human Resources

As Head of Human Resources, you will oversee Aurora’s HR operations and processes worldwide. Working closely with the CEO and COO, you will be responsible for developing Aurora’s HR strategy, and for nurturing the strong corporate culture that enables us to attract and retain our very talented and high-performing employees. You will develop and grow a team of talented HR professionals, defining best practice and overseeing the implementation of HR initiatives.

As a member of the global senior management team, the successful applicant will have exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders within the business. A qualified and experienced HR professional, you will be looking for the opportunity to shape the development of a fast-growing organisation. You will be proficient at balancing best practice with commercial pressures, ensuring consistency and high levels of performance, and successfully delivering companywide change programmes.

Key responsibilities

  • Defining and implementing strategic HR initiatives
  • Leading the recruitment strategy and selection across the Group
  • Driving the continuous improvement of our employee training and development programmes
  • Defining career development paths within the business, providing overall leadership and direction to the HR team
  • Building remuneration policies and packages based on external benchmarking and best practices
  • Promoting employee engagement and nurturing a positive corporate culture based on strong shared values across Group
  • Leading the development and continuous improvement of HR policies and procedures
  • Monitoring and maintaining compliance with employment regulations
  • Reporting on HR initiatives and performance to the management team and Board

Required attributes

  • Educated to degree level, preferably in business administration, human resources management, or employment law
  • CIPD Level 7 qualified, Chartered MCIPD or equivalent
  • Experience in, and HR position in, a consulting/professional services firm
  • Minimum of 10 years’ HR experience, including a previous position of seniority
  • Commercial acumen – partners with the business to deliver commercially focused people strategies
  • Solid employment law knowledge and proven experience of applying up-to-date legislation to a variety of HR situations
  • Experience working across different international jurisdictions
  • Proven experience developing a team, acting as a mentor and coach
  • Evidence of having a passion for working with people and working beyond the confines of the job description
  • Experience delivering initiatives and programmes within a rapid growth business
  • Proven experience presenting HR information to senior stakeholders, and at board level
  • Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)

Desirable attributes

  • Experience managing and working with an HRMS system
  • International work experience
