Commercial Associate – SaaS


Aurora wouldn’t be an industry leader in providing energy market forecasts, analysis, insights, and consultancy without our successful commercial team. We are seeking a SaaS Commercial Associate to grow Aurora’s cutting-edge SaaS products for advanced energy market modelling. You will work in a dynamic multi-national team responsible for promoting the value of SaaS products and driving opportunities to a close. The role will focus on managing complex sales by establishing the customer’s needs, demonstrating product value, explaining technical information and responding to customer concerns.

The successful candidate will combine a strong commercial mindset, great communication and relationship management skills, passion to develop new business, technical knowledge, and interest in energy markets. You will work in a young, dynamic, intellectually stimulating, demanding and collaborative environment. You will join our European commercial team, which is expected to grow and offer potential for progression, including through international expansion and creating new data and software-based solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Generate leads by expanding market awareness of Aurora’s SaaS products through traditional and digital marketing channels
  • Coordinate other sales colleagues to generate and nurture leads and deliver excellent customer service
  • Perform demonstrations and promotion through trials to help customers understand and quantify product value and their business need
  • Negotiating and contracting structured offers to close or participate in sales with existing and potential customers
  • Work closely with our SaaS Product Managers to create product roadmaps, develop new products and improve existing offerings that reflect our customers’ needs and feedback
  • Explain complex technical information to customers in a way that is easy to understand
  • Compile proposals and reports related to technical SaaS products
  • Represent Aurora, with a comprehensive understanding of our SaaS offerings
  • Use Salesforce CRM to ensure standard processes during all sales stages
  • Develop new marketing materials as needed

Required attributes

  • Quickly acquire technical knowledge and comprehensive understanding of Aurora SaaS products
  • Experience of selling SaaS products preferably to energy and finance industry clients
  • Strong commercial mindset, including creativity and intuition for opportunities that create impact and commercial success
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and cope with uncertainty
  • Excellent organisation skills and a high degree of persistence and diligence
  • A can-do attitude and willingness to help wherever needed e.g. improving internal systems and processes
  • Motivated by achieving tangible individual and team commercial targets
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with both technically and nontechnically minded people
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills
  • Evidence of strong performance in team-oriented environments
  • Enthusiasm and curiosity about the energy transition

Desirable attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT, engineering, finance, physical science or related field
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM system is beneficial
  • Previous professional exposure to energy economics, power markets and power networks would be an advantage
  • Fluency in a major European language beyond English is a plus
