Associate (Nordic & Baltic Power Markets) – Research

Position

We currently have an excellent opportunity for an Associate to join our Research team in Stockholm to help us shape the future direction of the Nordic & Baltic power markets.

Joining us as an Associate you will use your exemplary quantitative and analytical skills to play an active role in all aspects of client engagement: helping identify issues, forming hypotheses, conducting analysis, and synthesizing conclusions into recommendations.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate junior colleagues in developing insights to help clients make better choices
  • Build relationships with clients to thoroughly understand their needs and gain new insights
  • Monitor and keep abreast of the latest policy and market developments
  • Present findings to clients in workshops and conferences
  • Contribute to our product development of the Nordic & Baltic research practice, by identifying new opportunities and expanding our capabilities

Required attributes

  • Proven experience from a top-tier strategic or economic consultancy, energy company, financial services company, or knowledge-focused firm or institution/university
  • Demonstrated success in project and process management
  • Strong team player
  • A university degree in either:
    • A quantitative subject, coupled with a keen interest in policy developments
    • A social science, environmental studies, or a related field, coupled with an interest in quantitative analysis
  • A proven ability to collect, analyse and interpret complex quantitative data and information
  • An ability to communicate and collaborate with both technical and non-technical parties
  • Working knowledge of power markets dynamics

Desirable attributes

  • Experience in working with energy system models
  • Experience in managing project teams
  • Competence in advanced data analytics (e.g., Python, R, Matlab, Advanced Excel)
  • Proficiency in a Scandinavian or Baltic language or Finnish would be a plus
