In the past twelve months, French renewable developers, operators, and investors have experienced a flurry of regulatory and policy changes, affecting revenues, market outlook, and expectations of return.
Those changes stem from the European Commission and France’s willingness to tackle the energy crisis, with measures aimed at simultaneously accelerating the deployment of fossil-free power generators while limiting the impact of the spectacular rise in energy costs on consumers. While some of these measures are temporary, others will durably affect the legal and market landscape of renewables.
In this webinar recording, we summarised the key regulatory changes of 2022 and those upcoming in 2023, and evaluate their impact on the power market, notably the following points:
- French Renewables Acceleration Law (with a focus on agri-PV and onshore wind)
- Evolution of CfD auctions
- Energy price caps
- Other key measures (e.g. PPA guarantee fund)
