We bring together industry leaders, policymakers, investors and analysts to chart a practical, investable path to Net Zero. Our agenda tackles the toughest questions in decarbonising the power and industrial sectors, with a sharp analytical focus on the investment case for Net Zero:
- Can the clean power mission be achieved securely and at an acceptable cost for consumers and businesses?
- How should investors consider the risks from a fraying political consensus and what can be done to bolster public support?
- Will market reforms, NESO control room modernisation and new approaches to financing help accelerate batteries?
- Will policy reforms unlock Long Duration Energy Storage deployment and what does this mean for the UK’s world leading lithium-ion battery sector?
- Is there a clear pathway for industrial decarbonisation which retains competitiveness?
- Which use cases for hydrogen in the UK energy transition are still investable?
Join us for deep-dive discussions, exclusive analytical insights, and a forward-looking view on what the energy transition means for the UK’s policy, investment, and infrastructure landscape.
Agenda
Bringing together Aurora’s UK Renewable, Battery and Hydrogen Conferences in one dedicated event!
The UK Government has set ambitious targets: a clean power sector by 2030; and full decarbonisation of the economy by 2050. The latest spending review underlines this ambition, backing nuclear expansion, accelerating Carbon Capture Usage & Storage (CCUS) deployment, and strengthening the case for market reform to support flexibility, affordability and security. A Carbon Budget and Growth Plan is promised in the autumn with a blueprint for industrial decarbonisation which is likely both to require significant electrification and hydrogen production. But with a challenging investment environment and uncomfortable recent reminders of the risks to resilience during the transition, how will these ambitions be delivered, and who will pay?
Aurora Energy Research is bringing together our successful renewable, battery, and hydrogen conferences summits into one holistic UK Energy Transition Conference Summit. We will look at the energy transition as a whole energy system – with dedicated sessions on how to deliver Clean Power 2030 securely and affordably, the changing picture of future industrial demand for hydrogen and power; and the outlook for batteries in the UK market and the key enabler of system integration and resilience.
