The Economics of Green Hydrogen in The Netherlands and France

Demand for green hydrogen in Europe is growing in order to reach Net Zero emissions. Two of the most prominent players in the European hydrogen market, France and The Netherlands, have set ambitious targets for green hydrogen production, targeting 3-4 GW and 6.5 GW of electrolysers in 2030. The potential for its application on the decarbonization pathway in various sectors, including industry and transport, is promising. At the same time, green hydrogen costs are forecast to drop quickly, by between –36% and –40% in the next decade.
